The next nine pictures were taken along a preservation railway. Some of the poles contain working cables and these are used for communication. Some poles are just for decoration and these have no wires attached.
This pole is one of those being used for signalling. There are two red insulators on most of the poles and these are used for high voltage wires. These red pieces are thinner than the normal double groove reds and this is the only place I've seen them. The one on the right isn't damaged, its just covered in bird poo
